WHO IS THIS PROGRAM FOR?
The Dinos Elite Academy is for male and female participants aged 14 – 18 MAX 20 REGISTRATIONS
Athletes must have one of the following qualifications in order to register for this program:
- Have previously been selected to play for a Field Hockey Alberta Provincial Team
- Have been identified and recommended by a High Performance Coach (club, provincial or NextGen)
- Have appropriate performance level experience from another environment, and have been approved to register by the Dinos Coaching Staff.
COST: $1750
The fee includes 8 months of training and competition as well as AT, SnC, coaching for on field Technical training and games as outlined in the schedule.
NOTE: If you are an Elite Goalkeeper and would like to register for the team based training to supplement the GK specific sessions, please note your cost for this program is $850
The Dinos Elite Academy designed to deliver an appropriate, weekly, Performance focused training environment to supplement and support what is being delivered in club environments. This program is specifically for development of athletes whose goal is to pursue field hockey at provincial, national or international level, and/or prepare for university varsity level programs.
Within the Elite Academy, Athletes will develop and advance their performance skills in technical, tactical, physical and mental aspects of the game. Focus will be placed on developing a culture of excellence around performance behaviours, application of technical skills, strong principled based decision making in skill selection, tactical understanding and thinking the game while playing at speed and under pressure.
Through our strength program, including on field warm up cool down, emphasis will be placed on development of physical readiness, with routines around proper movement skills, recovery and injury prevention along with game ready strength and conditioning to prevent injury and prepare athletes for the speed of the game at top levels of play. The strength program is delivered by Eleven Performance, who is also responsible for the Dinos Varsity programming, offering a great opportunity for building the foundation for University Varsity Conditioning.
Our Coaches
The program will be lead by Qualified and Experienced coaches from within the Dinos Field Hockey program.
Dinos Head Coach, Jenn Beagan is a Chartered Professional coach (ChPC) holding an Advanced Coaching Diploma, Competition Development Certification and is a FIH Coach Developer. Jenn has 25 years of performance coaching experience including winning a gold medal with Team Canada at the Jr Pan American Games, and leading the Canadian U21 Women’s National team to back to back Junior World Cups.
Dinos Assistant Coach, Jenn Wishart is currently pursuing her competition development certification. She was selected to the USport Women in Coaching Mentorship Program in 2024-25, has experience working with Field Hockey Canada Youth National Teams, and has been part of the Alberta based NextGen staff for the past three years.
Eleven Performance coach, Cassie Shokar, has been one of the Dinos Strength and Conditioning Coaches since early 2024. Her approach provides evidence-based training methods, a strong focus on human movement, performance optimization, and injury prevention.
SCHEDULE
The performance plan for this program incudes the following elements September 2025 – May 2026:
- One time per week Technical Training with Dinos Elite (all sessions at UofC)
- One time per week Strength Session with weekly at-home training program via Bridge App. (In Person Lift: 560 69th Ave SW)
- Regular Competition Environment including fall outdoor competitive games, Dinos Indoor League and Tournament, Dinos Outdoor Summer League. Opportunity for additional games within the Dinos Environment as coordinated by staff.
- Approximately 3.5 months of indoor focus, and 4.5 months of outdoor focus training.
- The program and schedule is periodized to prepare athletes for FHC Next Gen Camps, youth team preparation and readiness for 2026 provincial programming.
- All Technical trainings will be supported with an on field Athletic Trainer.

Training 730-9pm: January 15, 22, 29, February 5, 12, 19

Dinos Indoor Tournament: February 27-Mar 1
