Dinos Academy Programs are designed to support the continuing development of Male and Female Field Hockey Athletes as well as Coaches in the Calgary area. Dinos Academy is a technical-based training program for Athletes who are looking to develop and advance their performance skills. Athletes should have prior experience with school, club or provincial programming and be interested in extending their knowledge and execution of the game.

2026 DINOS SPRING/SUMMER ACADEMY
This Field Hockey Technical Training Academy is designed for Athletes who are looking to develop and advance their performance skills. Athletes should have prior experience with school, club or provincial programming and be interested in extending their knowledge and execution of the game.
The Academy will teach individual technical skills that you can work into your game such as carrying the ball, elimination, passing, goal scoring and possession skills. Advanced skill development will take your game to the next level and will be taught through both drills and small sided games. Training and skills may be modified to be appropriate for each group to ensure a positive learning experience.
Goalkeepers will have position specific training with focus on set positioning, balance, core saves, rebound control, diving and decision making.
2025-26 DINOS GK ACADEMY
All Goalkeepers are welcome including Elite (Provincial and Next Gen identified) as well as Club, School or Youth Goalkeepers are encouraged to register! Training groups may be created in order to provide an appropriate level of focused training based on skill level and the daily training plans.
The Dinos Goalkeeping Academy is designed to deliver consistent and regular Goalkeeper specific training through the year in order to maximize and accelerate development of Calgary’s Goalkeepers.
PROSPECTS ID CAMP
This camp is intended for athletes in grade 10 or above from across Canada that are considering the option of continuing their education at the University of Calgary and are interested in learning more about the field hockey program, culture and expectations of playing varsity field hockey as well as be assessed by the Dinos coaching staff as a potential recruit.
The camp will include fitness testing, technical training and game play in a format that will simulate the load and intensity of a Varsity Preseason Camp. We will also have a full campus tour, and Q&A Panel discussion with our current Dinos Athletes to learn specifics about our program.

YOUTH SUMMER CAMPS with FIELD HOCKEY ALBERTA
The University of Calgary Dinos are thrilled to partner with Field Hockey Alberta to offer a Field Hockey Summer Camp!
Did you know Field Hockey is the third most popular sport in the world!!??
It is played by over 2 billion people world wide! This is a fast-paced, action-packed sport that requires a lot of skill and precision. If you currently play ice hockey, ringette, soccer or lacrosse you will probably love field hockey as well! Join us at this Camp to give it a try!
The Dinos Field Hockey camp is designed for students in grade 4-6 who are interested in learning a new sport. The camp will focus on teaching you all the basics of the game, growing your confidence in understanding both the skills necessary to play, and learning the rules. The program will be lead by current Dinos Field Hockey athletes and provincial experts in coaching representing Field Hockey Alberta.

2026 JUNIOR DINOS 7v7 Play Day!
Join us for an evening of field hockey instruction and fun 7v7 games!
Everyone will get 1.5 hours of technical instruction in skills stations run by Dinos Players and Staff, followed by 4x 20 minute 7v7 games.
REGISTER HERE: 2026 registration is not yet available
* Each junior HS team should create 2 squads to play, the teams will alternate so each player gets 2 games.
* Dinos will provide coaching support for technical portion, but the JV coaches should participate and be prepared to help coach the 7v7 games.
**Please note, if your TEAM is not registering, however you have individual athletes that would like to attend please get in touch with Jenn ([email protected]) Individuals can register for $10 each and will be placed with other individuals on a 7v7 team.
