Dinos Academy Programs are designed to support the continuing development of Male and Female Field Hockey Athletes as well as Coaches in the Calgary area. Dinos Academy is a technical-based training program for Athletes who are looking to develop and advance their performance skills. Athletes should have prior experience with school, club or provincial programming and be interested in extending their knowledge and execution of the game.

DESCRIPTION:
For Goalkeepers, the academy will cover skills such as stance, balance, footwork, and low, mid and high saves using feet, hands and stick. This program will provide support and training that will take your game to the next level and will be taught through both drills and small sided games. Training and skills may be modified to be appropriate for each group to ensure a positive learning experience.

If this is something you would like to set up, please reach out and we can discuss details around how we can best support your specific team as you prepare for your season. You would need to provide the facility and equipment (balls, cones, pinnies etc as necessary)

HIGH SCHOOL COACHING CLINICS
In Winter 2025 Dinos Academy Offered 6 coaching clinics geared at providing support to high school coaches or teachers as they prepare for their 2025 seasons. These clinics covered everything from specific technical instruction, tactical and rule information, goalkeeping and more!
Coaching clinics can be available to any coach looking to advance their understanding of the game, and coaching knowledge. Please reach out if you missed these clinics but would like to learn more about future opportunities
PROSPECTS ID CAMP
This camp is intended for athletes in grade 10 or above from across Canada that are considering the option of continuing their education at the University of Calgary and are interested in learning more about the field hockey program, culture and expectations of playing varsity field hockey as well as be assessed by the Dinos coaching staff as a potential recruit.
The camp will include fitness testing, technical training and game play in a format that will simulate the load and intensity of a Varsity Preseason Camp. We will also have a full campus tour, and Q&A Panel discussion with our current Dinos Athletes to learn specifics about our program.

1200 -130pm Campus Tour and Dinos Student-Athlete Panel

Sunday April 27:
900-1100am Game Play
JUNIOR DINOS 7v7 Play Day!
Join us for an evening of field hockey instruction and fun 7v7 games!
Everyone will get 1.5 hours of technical instruction in skills stations run by Dinos Players and Staff, followed by 4x 20 minute 7v7 games.

* Each junior HS team should create 2 squads to play, the teams will alternate so each player gets 2 games.
* Dinos will provide coaching support for technical portion, but the JV coaches should participate and be prepared to help coach the 7v7 games.
**Please note, if your TEAM is not registering, however you have individual athletes that would like to attend please get in touch with Jenn ([email protected]) Individuals can register for $10 each and will be placed with other individuals on a 7v7 team.
